Dr. Gunther Duschek is the Managing Director as the CTOO of RUDOLF, which has a global workforce of 2,000 employees across 50 locations. With over 25 years of experience in the
field of R&D in textile auxiliaries, Dr. Duschek has played a pivotal role in propelling innovation within the textile industry. He holds a diploma in chemistry and a doctorate in natural sciences,
having completed his studies at the University of Ulm and his doctoral research on fluorocarbons at Clariant, Basel.
From an early age, Dr. Duschek was exposed to textiles due to his upbringing in a family that owned a textile finishing company. Since 1997, he has led the development of fluorocarbons at
RUDOLF and, since 2000, the development of effect chemicals. In 2005, he assumed the position of overall leadership of research and development at RUDOLF, and since 2007, he has been overseeing the technical domains of R&D, production, and non-textile applications. In 2016, he assumed the role of VP of R&D and HSQE at RUDOLF. Since 2020, he has been the Managing Director as the CTOO of RUDOLF.
Dr. Duschek has always been a driver of innovation and a firm believer in sustainable
development. He was among the industry leaders to develop and market fluorine free chemistry.
In addition to his role at RUDOLF, Dr. Duschek serves as a member of the scientific advisory board
(Textile Advisory Board) at RWTH Aachen, where he has delivered numerous international lectures
at conferences and to clients. His work has been widely published, and he holds over 100 patents.
Dr. Duschek’s expertise in innovation, sustainability and regulation positions him as a key thought
leader in the industry, advocating for the development and acceptance of new technologies for
mutual benefit.
