MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Southern Textile Research Conference (STRC) here last month brought together industry leaders to explore critical challenges facing textile manufacturing, with a central theme of “Transforming Textiles, Preserving the Future.”

Founded in 1961, the STRC provides a forum for networking and exchange of science-based information on topics of interest to the textile industry useful in the supply chain to develop, manufacture and sell textile products.

Created by three leading technical executives and industry scientists – Dr. Luther B. Arnold, Walter Waluciwitz and Herman Goldstein – the conference has long served as a platform for sharing cutting-edge research and industry insights. This year’s event emphasized sustainability, technological innovation and the industry’s future challenges. The conference operates as a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization, with registration fees reinvested to support future events.
